General Statement of Duties: The staff accountant will be responsible
for ensuring the financial compliance of the company. This position
requires maintenance of the annual budget and any long term strategies
for revenue and profit growth. Management of all financial aspects
including: planning, accounting, A/R, A/P and GL is required. The
position will be heavily involved with negotiating and structuring business
development deals to support short and long term company initiatives
as well as advise the executive team on key issues affecting the business.
Reports Relationship: Chief Executive Officer
Physical Requirements: Position requires full range of body motion,
as well as manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves
standing and walking. Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and
carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Normal visual acuity and hearing
are required. Employee will work under stressful conditions, may be asked
to work at other locations, and work irregular hours.
Essential Job Duties:
- Manages all aspects of the accounts payable processes.
- Evaluates existing contracts and agreements. Renegotiates
contracts and seeks out new agreements.
- Maintains, reviews and reconciles operating, real-estate,
sweep and money markets accounts.
- Works cooperatively with our accounting firm to create
monthly and annual financial reports, tax preparation, business licenses and
annual budget.
- Analyses revenue streams and makes appropriate recommendations.
- Accurately determines inner company allocations.
- Handles all cash deposits and electronic check transfers.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and
attends other meetings and seminars.
- Assists the reimbursement department with month end closings functions
which includes research of receivable details and preparing data queries.
- Responds to inquiries from
management, auditors and regulatory agencies regarding accounting policies
and procedures as well as administering existing policies and procedures.
- Other duties may be
assigned to meet business needs.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent analytical, research, communication and organizational
skills as well as the ability to pay attention to detail.
- Fluent in proformas.
- Must have in-depth computer skills and experience with practice management
and word processing software; including word, excel and outlook.
- Must feel comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications.
- Must have familiar experience with system conversions.
- Must be able to perform multiple and diverse tasks simultaneously.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must display a courteous, positive, and helpful attitude to patients,
their families, staff and physicians to include a pleasant speaking
voice and demeanor.
- Must feel comfortable working in a team environment consisting of
SSI staff, physicians, patients, and outside vendors.
- Must be reliable and highly motivated.
- Must maintain a neat, professional appearance.
Education: Bachelors degree in accounting, business, or finance is mandatory – advanced
certifications are preferred.
Experience: 5 or more years of relevant experience
Certificate/License: Preferred
